"Hosting Partner Program" - An Overview

This is NOT a reseller program. We already have one of those which you can read more about here.

The Hosting Partner Program is a program geared towards medium to large sized hosting companies who have a large number of resellers, VPS providers or otherwise are hosting providers in their own right. It is a program that allows partners to provide a Flash tutorial solution to their customers, free of charge.

If your business counts "hosting providers" among your customers, then this program may be for you.

If your business provides a large number of reseller, VPS or dedicated server solutions to your customers, then this program may be for you.

If you have customers that in turn sell hosting to their own customers, then they would likely benefit from having their own branded tutorials on their website to offer as support to their customers. You may already have Flash tutorials on your own website, and your customers who watch them may wish to have their own set of tutorials for their own website.

If you fit any of the criteria above, then wouldn't you agree that offering a Flash tutorial service to your customers so that they can have their own branded tutorials, would be a nice value added service you could provide for them?

You may already provide your customers with tools designed to help them be better resellers. Perhaps you offer SSL certificates, reseller or multiple account pricing, scalable options, shopping cart or support ticket scripts? If so, then perhaps you should also be offering free Flash tutorials branded for their business?

Now, with the Hosting Partner Program, DemoWolf makes this easier than ever before. Forget about trying to develop your own tutorials and giving them to your customers. It's too much work and is not the business you're in.

DemoWolf specializes in producing Flash tutorials for hosting companies, and are always coming out with new ones as well as updating old ones. We also provide voice tutorials, where the Flash tutorials have an audio component... the scripts are professionally recorded.

In fact, DemoWolf is the only company that produces voice tutorials for hosting companies. With this new Hosting Partner Program, you can easily pass this service on to your customers through DemoWolf, and save up to 80% off DemoWolf's pricing.

How it Works

Step 1. Choose a Hosting Partner Level. Each level requires an initial pre-payment which will be used towards future tutorial requests, and allows a certain discount off our regular prices. Each level also comes with different exposure/promotion levels within our website. The available Hosting Partner Levels are listed in the right margin.

Step 2. Once you've chosen your Hosting Partner Level, decide which tutorials you want to offer to your customers for free. If there are tutorials you want to charge for as well, that's ok too... all this needs to be decided so we can record it in our partner database... so we know how to deal with your tutorial requests.

Step 3. We will send you tutorials with your logo for display on your website... as per the Hosting Partner Level you choose. Upload them to your server so your customers can see them.

Step 4. Tell all your customers that you are now providing them with "branded flash tutorials" free of charge. Tell them you can give them the tutorials they want branded with their own company logo, through your partnership with DemoWolf.

Step 5. Start accepting requests for these branded tutorials from your customers, and in turn, you send us their information (name, domain name and email address) and what tutorials they want. At this point we'll need their company logo... you can either have them send it directly to us, or they can send it to you and you send it to us... whichever works best for you. All requests for tutorials must come from you the partner, and not directly from your customer. This way we'll know for sure that the customer is eligible for the free tutorials based on you telling us they are.

Step 6. We will calculate your cost of the tutorials (which will be based on your Hosting Partner Level) and deduct the cost from your pre-payment. For example, if you give your customer a free set of our cPanel x3 tutorials... 31 tutorials that we sell custom branded for $99.95... and if you are a level 1 Hosting Partner, then your cost is 70% off our regular price of $99.95. $99.95 - 70% = $29.99. Your balance will be reduced by this amount. Since your pre-payment as a level 1 Hosting Partner would've been $1,000, your revised balance would become $1,000 - $29.99 = $970.01.

Step 7. Each time you make a tutorial request, we will send you an email summarizing the request, it's cost, and it's result on your balance. Then at the end of each month we will send you a statement detailing your account activity.

Step 8. We will then generate the new tutorials for your customer, and send them a link to download them from our server. We will copy you on these emails for your records. There is nothing you have to do to fill these orders... we'll take care of it all. Tutorial requests will typically be filled within 1 hour if received during regular business hours... otherwise first thing the following morning.

Step 9. When your balance gets down to 10% of your initial pre-payment, we will send you an invoice to replenish your account balance. The replenish amount should be at least $500, and be an amount to at least cover 1-2 month's average spend. If you are a level 1 or 2 partner, then you can always pay the required pre-payment of a higher level to move up to that higher level and get the larger discounts.

Our Goal

This program was developed to help change our focus from being a retailer to that of being a wholesaler of Flash tutorials to the web hosting industry. We're finding the retail market difficult as we do not think we are successfully conveying our message to all who could use our product.

And since these tutorials are a product that many who are starting hosting businesses would want, AND since many large hosting providers are already providing many of the hosting solutions these small hosting providers need, it seems to us that these larger hosting providers would do a much better job at selling our products than we have been. If we can successfully make this transition, then we will be able to divert our focus away from retailing and focus more on the development of new and updated tutorials.

Another aspect is that it seems many hosts do want to provide these tutorials to their customers, but don't have the time to develop them themselves, nor the investment to keep them up to date, continue to develop new ones, and fill the orders. We have all the infrastructure in place to be able to deliver branded tutorials quickly (within 1 hour), and the gowing inventory of hosting tutorials that our customers want.

As this program develops, we will have a growing list of "Hosting Partners" showcased both on our home page and on our Partners page. So when people come to our website looking for Flash tutorials, they'll see a list of hosting providers where if they sign up with them, they may be able to get our tutorials for free.

It is our intention to eventually be able to refer customers to our Hosting Partners to get their hosting tutorials.

About the discount levels. 70%, 75% and 80% are huge discount levels. You may also be aware that we periodically offer specials to our direct customers (currently we have a 50% off special running). Be aware that the 70%, 75% and 80% discount levels are off our regular prices, and not off our sale prices. I assume this to be obvious, but had to state it just in case it wasn't ;) Also, we will never have a sale where the sale prices are better than the 70%, 75% or 80% discount level you'll enjoy as a Hosting Partner. And with time as this program becomes successful, we envision having fewer and fewer sales, until eventually we're always selling at regular prices and that the only way to get discounts would be to sign up with one of our Hosting Partners.

I have been thinking for several months now that DemoWolf should be a company run by the hosting industry. It should be the hosting industry that decides what tutorials should be produced based on what the customers are asking for.

We have already implemented a polling system whereby customers can vote on which tutorials we develop... now we are moving towards having the hosting providers themselves helping to distribute these tutorials so that eventually all hosting companies will offer them as support to their customers. That is our goal with the Hosting Partner Program.

Hosting Partner Levels

Bronze Partner (level 1)

Pre-payment required = $1,000

Discount given = 70%

Partner decides which tutorials to offer free to their customers (customizable)

Partner to replenish account once the balance reaches $100, or once there is less than 1 month's average spend left in the account.

Replenish amount should be at least $500 at a time, and should cover at least 1-2 month's average spend.*

Silver Partner (level 2)

Pre-payment required = $3,000

Discount given = 75%

Everything else is the same as for Level 1 Bronze, with the following additions:

Partner to replenish account once the balance reaches $300, or once there is less than 1 month's average spend left in the account.

Gold Partner (level 3)

Pre-payment required = $5,000

Discount given = 80%

Everything else is the same as for Level 1 & 2, with the following additions:

Additional Notes

A note about replenishing your account. The rules for this are not hard and fast... we will work with each partner to find what works best. Generally speaking, you should maintain a minimum of 10% of your initial pre-payment, and fund your account when you are close to running low... and you should put enough funds into your account so that we do not have to request it more than once a month. We will send you notices (usually with your monthly statement, but more often if required) if your balance is running low.

A note about changing levels. If you initially sign up for either level 1 or level 2, then you can "upgrade" to a higher level simply by paying the initial pre-payment amount of the desired level ($3,000 for level 2 or $5,000 for level 3). Doing so at any time will give you the better features and discounts of the higher level. Once you obtain a certain level, you will always maintain that level as long as you keep the minimum account balance of 10% of the pre-payment for that level.

Put some serious thought into which tutorials you want to offer your customers for free. We have thousands of dollars worth of tutorials that hosting companies would want on their websites, so if you offered all our tutorials for free, you could burn through your pre-payment quite quickly if you get lots of requests.

Consider charging a small nominal amount for the tutorials. Doing so will ensure you only get serious requests for the tutorials.

Consider requiring your customers be customers for a period of time before they're eligible for the free tutorials. Or at the very least, include a disclaimer that says any money back guarantees you offer are subject to the amount of free tutorials they request. In other words, if someone signs up today, requests $100 in free tutorials tomorrow, then cancels the next day after getting the tutorials, you may want to be able to reduce the amount of any refund owed to him by the cost of the tutorials.

It is completely up to you as to what (if anything) to charge your customers for the branded tutorials, and which tutorials to offer. We have over 2,200 tutorials available right now, and this list continues to grow monthly. You will be notified of all new tutorial releases in case you ever want to revise your tutorial offers to your customers.

You are free to change your offers over time. In other words, you may decide to all of a sudden start giving free Joomla tutorials with every new account setup in December. It makes no difference to us... you should just be aware of the eventual cost to you. We will fill all requests for tutorials for your customers, as made by you, and keep you up to date with our confirmation emails and monthly statements.
