(Halifax, NS, Canada) – DemoWolf has added a UK server to it's Tutorial Subscription system, to ensure subscribers' tutorials load quickly, and to add redundancy in case the Chicago-based main system ever goes down.
The new UK-based server mainly serves as a backup to the main system. If a subscription server ever takes more than 5 seconds to respond and serve the tutorials, the client's Tutorial Viewer will assume the main system is down, and wont' try to connect to that system again for 2 hours. In the meantime, the Tutorial Viewer will try the next server in the list... the backup server.
Now when DemoWolf clients (hosting companies) subscribe to the tutorial service and download their Tutorial Viewer, an exact copy of their tutorials will be kept on 2 servers, one in the US and one in the UK. Anytime subscribers make changes to their tutorials, the changes are replicated across both servers.
In addition, the new UK-based server can be used as the main server for clients who are closer in proximity to the UK, and use the Chicago main system as their backup. Instructions on how to make this change are being provided to all DemoWolf subscription clients.
